Thói quen của chúng ta là thường upload ảnh trực tiếp lên host khi viết bài, điều này có một ưu điểm là nhanh, gọn, không xảy ra tình trạng link ảnh bị die (trừ khi cái blog nó die luôn) và quan trọng là tăng tốc độ tải trang khi bài viết chứa hình ảnh không bị phụ thuộc vào các kết nối ở bên ngoài. Nhưng có một nhược điểm khá khó chịu trong WordPress là nó sẽ tự động sản sinh ra một số file ảnh khác trên cùng một tấm ảnh nhưng có kích thước khác nhau, hoặc nếu bạn có sử dụng timthumb thì ôi thôi, file cache của nó có khi còn nhiều hơn cái thư mục uploads của bạn.
