Điều này đã giúp cho người tiêu dùng Mỹ có thêm tiền để chi tiêu, thông qua sức mua của người dân , các lĩnh vực sản xuất thương mại , dịch vụ ở nước này được tiếp sức , kích thích doanh nghiệp đầu tư và góp phần giúp GDP có mức tăng trong quý II/2008 là 3,3% so với cùng kì năm ngoái. Số lượng người xin trợ cấp thất nghiệp cũng giảm xuống.
