Ngày 21-3-2002 dự án nâng cấp cơ sở vật chất giai đoạn 1 của Đoàn 298 được khởi công với tổng vốn đầu tư 6,7 tỷ đồng, quy mô 1 nhà nghỉ cao cấp 39 phòng, 2 nhà nghỉ biệt thự cấp tướng 14 phòng, nhà ăn, hội trường có sức chứa 400 người, 2 sân tennis, sân bóng chuyền, phòng thể dục, phục hồi chức năng… Theo thời gian, Đoàn 298 ngày càng phát triển lớn mạnh, hiện nay, Đoàn đã có trên 100 phòng nghỉ với trang thiết bị đầy đủ đúng theo quy định của Cục Cán bộ, Tổng cục Chính trị; đội ngũ nhân viên phục vụ có chuyên môn nghiệp vụ cao.
