Execution might be an efficient penalty in order to decline crime rates and assure the strictness of legislation. From my perspective, death warrants should be replaced by life sentence for moral purposes as an ethic standard of society.Capital punishment has several drawbacks. Firstly, there is a belief that no one can have the right of killing people. Consequently, for serious crimes such as killer, execution becomes unscrupulous in comparison with humanitarian principles that have been made. Secondly, even hanging, beheading or lethal injection, this penalty appears as a form of revenge which could just ease the hatred of the mob in a certain time but cannot heal the pain of victims or the family. Finally, an increasing number of people wrongly executed is one of the downsides. Due to lack of evidence, subjective opinions and the pressure of community, many innocent suspects have been killed. As a result, capital punishment should be repealed from the law and practice .On the one hand, I personally believe that life sentence is more appropriate for dangerous criminals and moral standards. In the medieval period, the death penalty was enacted to reduce the delinquency rates and eliminated deadly perpetrators forever. However, it is not true for modern society when benevolence is enhanced. Life imprisonment now has been applied widely in legal systems of developed countries because of its effectiveness. A powerful evidence proving the failing of capital punishment is that while America remains execution, they still have the highest crime rate..
In conclusion, the death penalty is not necessary to restrict violent behavior. Alternatively, life sentence is a real punishment torturing the criminals by the court of conscience.
