Làm việc theo nhóm là nhóm gồm tối thiểu 2 người được phân chia theo sự chỉ huy của người khác hoặc được tập hợp từ các cá nhân. Làm việc nhóm là các cá nhân, thành viên trong nhóm đều hướng đến một mục tiêu chung. Sự hiệu quả của của công việc phụ thuộc đáng kể vào năng lực của các thành viên ở trong nhóm. Khi làm việc theo nhóm có thể đêm lại rất nhiều lợi ích so với làm việc cá nhân.
Một nhóm với các cá nhân cùng phối hợp với nhau một cách hợp lý sẽ mang lại nhiều thành công cho nhóm. Điều này được thể hiện trực tiếp qua kết quả và thành tích mà nhóm dành được cuối cùng. Ở trong trường hợp của nhóm chúng tôi, chúng tôi được giao bài tập là thực hiện một video giới thiệu về trường đại học IBD nhằm thu hút thêm nhiều học sinh từ các quốc gia khác, hiệu quả của công việc được thể hiện trực tiếp qua điểm số và phản hồi từ thầy giáo của chúng tôi. Sau khi nhận được yêu cầu của bài tập, việc đầu tiên chúng tôi làm đó là tập hợp lại các thành viên để có thể thảo luận và tìm ra các ý kiến và ý tưởng cho video. Buổi thảo luận đó giúp chúng tôi tụ tập được các ý tưởng và tìm ra những điểm mạnh của mỗi cá nhân để có thể phân chia công việc một cách dễ dàng hơn. Tôi và Vân nghiên cứu từ các nguồn từ trên Internet để có thể tạo ra được kịch bản hoàn chỉnh. Nhóm chúng tôi có nhờ sự giúp đỡ từ một người bạn có kinh nghiệm trong lĩnh phim ảnh để hướng dẫn những góc, vị trí quay, và phần mềm chỉnh sửa video phù hợp. Nhờ có vậy mà chỉ trong 4 ngày trước với hạn nộp, chúng tôi đã hoàn thành xong video.
Dựa vào bài tập trên, lợi ích tiếp theo mà tôi có thể thấy khi làm việc theo nhóm đó là nhóm có thể kết hợp và tận dụng điểm mạnh của mỗi thành viên trong nhóm. Lấy ví dụ trong trường hợp nhóm của tôi, Vân là người có khả năng lãnh đạo và điều tiết bầu không khí của nhóm khi làm việc. Vì vậy mà Vân là người lãnh đạo và điều hành các công việc của nhóm. Còn Sơn là một người có khướu hài hước và khả năng tự tin nói trước đám đông nên được giao nhiệm vụ giới thiệu chính trong video của chúng tôi. Tôi là người có khả năng về công nghệ, vì vậy tôi được giao nhiệm vụ quay phim và kết hợp với các thành viên còn lại để chỉnh sửa video. Nhờ có những sự đa dạng về khả năng của mỗi người trong nhóm mà có thể kết hợp lại để hoàn thành được công việc.
Một trong những lợi ích tiếp theo mà tôi có thể nhắc đến đó là giúp các thành viên trong nhóm khả năng tương tác với nhau tốt hơn qua cách để lắng nghe và truyền đạt ý kiến của các thành viên với nhau. Khi làm việc nhóm, những xung đột là điều không thể tránh khỏi, tuy nhiên, cũng chính từ những xung đột đó mà giúp cho mọi người có thể hiểu hơn về tính cách của nhau, từ đó có thể tìm được sự thống nhất chung để hoàn thành công việc.
Để kết luận, lợi ích của làm việc nhóm mang lại đó là giảm thiểu được thời gian, công sức thực hiện công việc của các cá nhân. Hơn thế nữa, nó có thể tận dụng được những khả năng, điểm mạnh riêng của mỗi cá nhân trong nhóm. Làm việc nhóm cũng có thể giúp cho các thành viên trong nhóm có thể hiểu nhau nhiều hơn làm tăng mỗi quan hệ giữa các thành viên. Mọi thành viên trong nhóm cần biết khi làm việc nhóm thì những thành tựu mà nhóm đạt được cũng chính là những thành tựu từ mỗi cá nhân.
