"Phong cách lãnh đạo là những mô hình hoặc cách mà người lãnh đạo thường sử dụng để gây ảnh hưởng đến người cấp dưới trong quá trình thúc đẩy họ thực hiện các mục tiêu chung của tổ chức" (Lê Thanh Hà, 2004).
Có nhiều mô hình phong cách lãnh đạo khác nhau, mỗi mô hình có ưu và nhược điểm riêng. Nghiên cứu của luận văn này dựa trên lý thuyết của Benard M. Bass năm 1985, 1990 về phong cách "Lãnh đạo mới về chất". Để hiểu rõ phong cách lãnh đạo mới và chất, chúng ta cần phân biệt phong cách này với phong cách "Lãnh đạo nghiệp vụ".

The concept of leadership style "The style of leadership is the model or way that leaders often use to affect the lower levels in the process of promoting them to perform the common goals of the Organization" (Le Thanh Ha, 2004). There are many models of different leadership styles, each model has advantages and disadvantages. Research of this thesis based on the theory of Benard m. Bass in 1985, 1990 about style "new leadership". To understand the new leadership style and substance, we need to distinguish this style with the style "business leaders".
