Theo kết quả giám sát kết hợp hành vi và các chỉ số sinh học HIV/Bệnh lây truyền qua đường tình dục vòng 2 tại Việt nam năm 2009 (Báo cáo điều tra hành vi và sinh học, IBBS 2009) trong nhóm tiêm chích ma túy, tỷ lệ hiện nhiễm vi rút viêm gan B là 15,1%, tỷ lệ đã từng nhiễm vi rút viêm gan B là 58,7% và như vậy còn trên 40% nhóm này có nguy cơ nhiễm vi rút viêm gan B.

According to the monitoring results combine behavioral and biological indicators for HIV/sexually transmitted disease in round 2 2009 (report investigating the behavior and biology, 2009 IBBS) among the intravenous drug, the prevalence of hepatitis B virus infection is 15.1%, the rate had the hepatitis B virus infection is 58.7% and thus also on 40% of this group at risk the hepatitis B virus infection.
