Quy trình này thống nhất trình tự tiến hành các cuộc đánh giá nội bộ đối với các hoạt động và quá trình liên quan đến hệ thống quản lý chất lượng của công ty, nhằm nhìn nhận một cách toàn diện và độc lập xem các hoạt động và kết quả thực hiện công việc có phù hợp với những yêu cầu đã quy định, cũng như hệ thống quản lý chất lượng có được thực hiện một cách đồng bộ, hiệu lực và thỏa đáng và đạt được những mục tiêu mong muốn hay không.
