1.4.1. Học thuyết nhu cầu của Maslow [25]
Maslow cho rằng con người có nhiều nhu cầu mong muốn được thỏa mãn và được sắp xếp theo thứ tự nhất định. Theo ông con người có năm nhu cầu cần được thỏa mãn và được sắp xếp theo thứ tự thỏa mãn từng nhu cầu. Học thuyết của Maslow cho rằng khi mỗi một nhu cầu trong số các nhu cầu trên được thỏa mãn thì nhu cầu tiếp theo trở nên quan trọng hơn. Sự thỏa mãn nhu cầu của các cá nhân sẽ đi theo thứ bậc như trên và mặc dù không có nhu cầu nào được thỏa mãn hoàn toàn nhưng một nhu cầu đã được thỏa mãn thì không còn tạo ra động lực được nữa. Do vậy Maslow cho rằng để tạo ra được động lực cho nhân viên người quản lý cần phải hiểu nhân viên đó đang nằm trong thứ bậc nào của nhu cầu.

Maslow said that people have many needs and wants are met sorted in the order given. According to him people have five needs are met and sorted in order to satisfy every demand. Maslow said that as per a demand of the demand is satisfied, the next need becomes more important. Satisfying the needs of individuals will go on and hierarchical as though there is no need yet to be fully satisfied, but a demand has been satisfied, no longer create any more motivation. Therefore Maslow said that to create motivation for employees who manage the staff need to understand that what is in the hierarchy of needs.
