Mô tả chung về Hội đồng quản trị BIDV: là cơ quan quản trị, có toàn quyền nhân danh BIDV để quyết định, thực hiện các quyền, nghĩa vụ của BIDV ngoại trừ các vấn đề thuộc thẩm quyền ĐHĐCĐ.Tại 30/6/2014, HĐQT BIDV có 10 thành viên, trong đó có 01 thành viên độc lập và 01 thành viên giữ chức vụ Tổng giám đốc. Nhiệm kỳ HĐQT là 05 năm (nhiệm kỳ hiện tại 2012-2017).
