Đặc biệt, Việt Nam đã tham gia sâu, rộng và toàn diện trên tất cả các lĩnh vực hợp tác của ASEAN; chủ động tham gia xây dựng phương hướng phát triển và thảo luận để thông qua các quyết sách lớn của ASEAN; tích cực cùng các nước thành viên triển khai các nội dung ưu tiên hợp tác của ASEAN, nhất là triển khai hiệu quả, đúng hạn lộ trình xây dựng Cộng đồng. Năm 2014, cùng với các quốc gia thành viên khác, Việt Nam đẩy nhanh tiến độ thực hiện những cam kết đã thỏa thuận và là một trong số các thành viên ASEAN đạt tỷ lệ cao khi hoàn thành các dòng hành động trong lộ trình đã xác định.
