Vừa qua, ngày 01/11, tại thành phố Nha Trang, Thứ trưởng Bộ Ngoại giao Nguyễn Quốc Dũng dẫn đầu đoàn công tác gồm đại diện các tiểu ban của Ủy ban Quốc gia APEC 2017 đã có buổi làm việc với ông Nguyễn Duy Bắc – Phó Chủ tịch UBND tỉnh Khánh Hòa về công tác chuẩn bị các điều kiện tại Nha Trang để tổ chức một số sự kiện trong khuôn khổ Hội nghị Diễn đàn hợp tác kinh tế Châu Á – Thái Bình Dương (APEC) năm 2017 tại Việt Nam.
Chính phủ đã đồng ý chọn thành phố Nha Trang để tổ chức Hội nghị quan chức cao cấp APEC lần thứ nhất (SOM1), diễn ra từ ngày 18-2 đến ngày 3-3-2017, bao gồm hơn 80 cuộc họp lớn nhỏ với sự tham dự của khoảng 2.500 đại biểu. Hội nghị này là sự kiện đầu tiên, chính thức của Năm APEC 2017 tại Việt Nam. Bên cạnh đó, tại Nha Trang sẽ diễn ra Hội nghị Thứ trưởng Tài chính APEC và Hội nghị Phó thống đốc Ngân hàng Trung ương APEC.
Đồng thời, ông Nguyễn Duy Bắc – Phó Chủ tịch UBND tỉnh Khánh Hòa cho biết, tỉnh sẽ sớm thành lập ban chỉ đạo của địa phương để triển khai các mảng công tác về nội dung, vật chất và hậu cần, lễ tân, an ninh và y tế, tuyên truyền và văn hóa diễn ra đồng bộ, bảo đảm tiến độ, chất lượng theo yêu cầu của Chính phủ và Ủy ban Quốc gia APEC 2017.
Sở Ngoại vụ là cơ quan đầu mối phía tỉnh Khánh Hòa trong việc kết nối giữa các cơ quan, đơn vị Trung ương và các cơ quan, đơn vị, doanh nghiệp phía Khánh Hòa phối hợp triển khai tổ chức SOM 1 trên địa bàn tỉnh.
Theo lãnh đạo các sở, ngành tỉnh Khánh Hòa tham dự buổi làm việc, thành phố Nha Trang hiện có đủ điều kiện về cơ sở hạ tầng để đáp ứng yêu cầu tổ chức các hoạt động nói trên. Địa phương cũng từng đăng cai tổ chức nhiều sự kiện quốc tế quan trọng, nên tích lũy được nhiều kinh nghiệm trong công tác chuẩn bị, tổ chức các sự kiện theo yêu cầu của Hội nghị APEC 2017.
