Kinh tế Pháp đã đình trệ trong quý 2 năm 2015 sau khi tăng trưởng 0,7% trong quý 1 năm 2015.

Tuy nhiên, vẫn có dự báo cho rằng nền kinh tế lớn thứ hai châu Âu này vẫn có thể tăng trưởng 0,8% trong cả năm 2015 cho dù sẽ “giậm chân tại chỗ” trong hai quý còn lại của năm nay.

​Hiện tỷ lệ thất nghiệp của Pháp hiện ở mức 10%, cao thứ hai Khu vực đồng tiền chung châu Âu (Eurozone).

Ông Hollande quyết tâm giảm bớt số lao động thất nghiệp ở nước này trước khi cuộc bầu cử Tổng thống Pháp diễn ra vào năm 2017.

Ông Hollande tỏ ý ủng hộ các mục tiêu về giảm thâm hụt ngân sách và cho hay các kế hoạch nhằm cắt giảm thuế lên tới hơn 2 tỷ euro (2,23 tỷ USD) trong dự thảo ngân sách 2016 của nước này (dự kiến công bố trong vài tuần tới) sẽ nhận được nguồn kinh phí thực hiện từ việc tiết giảm ở các lĩnh vực khác.
