Hiện nay trong các nhà máy lọc hoá dầu và chế biến khí, tháp chưng cất là một trong những công đoạn chế biến quan trọng nhất trong quy trình công nghệ quyết định tới chất lượng sản phẩm và hiệu suất của nhà máy. Tháp chưng cất có cấu tạo và nguyên tắc hoạt động tổng quát nhất với hầu hết các kỹ thuật hoá lý. Mặt khác chất lượng sản phẩm của các nhà máy được quyết định chủ yếu bởi chất lượng điều khiển và quá trình làm việc ổn định tin cậy của tháp. Tuy nhiên việc duy trì thời gian làm việc liên tục và ổn định trong điều kiện làm việc khắc nghiệt của tháp rất khó khăn. Đặc điểm tháp là một đối tượng điều khiển phi tuyến với rất nhiều các tham số nhiễu dao động với biên độ cao và có sự tác động tương hỗ nhau. Trong điều kiện như vậy hệ thống điều khiển phải có nhiệm vụ cần phải giữ ổn định các thông số làm việc định mức của tháp trong giới hạn làm việc cho phép. Đó cũng là một nhiệm vụ quan trọng trong việc ổn định chất lượng sản phẩm, ngăn ngừa các sự cố đáng tiếc có thể xảy ra cho tháp. Theo đánh giá sự cố nguy hiểm nhất có thể xảy ra chính là hiện tượng ngập lụt trong tháp chưng cất.

At present in petroleum refineries and gas processing, distillation Tower is one of the most important processing stages in the workflow decide to product quality and performance of the plant. The distillation Tower is made and general operating principle for most of physicochemical techniques. On the other hand the quality products of the plant are determined primarily by the quality control and the stability of the tower. However maintaining the continuous working time and stable in the harsh working conditions of the Tower very hard. The tower features a non-linear control subjects with a lot of noise parameters vary with high amplitude and influenced each other mutually. In such conditions the control system must have the mission should keep stable the work and norms of the Tower in limited work permit. It is also an important task in the stable product quality, prevent unfortunate incidents can happen to the tower. The most dangerous problem that can occur is the flooding in distillation towers.

In such conditions the control system must have the following tasks need to stabilize the working parameters of the tower in the work allowed limit. It is also an important task in the stable product quality, prevent unfortunate incidents can happen to the tower. According to the most dangerous incidents that may occur is the phenomenon of flooding in distillation towers.
