Thứ nhất: Mua bán theo hợp đồng mua lại: Là việc NHTW ký hợp đồng mua bán với người giao dịch và ngươi giao dịch đồng ý mua lại các giấy tờ có giá của NHTW vào một ngày xác định trong tương lai.
Thứ hai : Mua bán theo hợp đồng mua lại đảo ngược : là việc NHTW bán các giấy tờ có giá cho người giao dịch và người giao dịch lại đồng ý bán lại các giấy tờ có giá cho NHTW vào một ngày xác định trong tương lai.
