Theo một báo cáo gần đây từ công ty đánh giá tín dụng bảo hiểm hàng đầu của Mỹ là A. M. Best (AMB), mức độ rủi ro trong hệ thống tài chính và nền kinh tế Việt Nam đã lần lượt bị đánh giá là "Rất Cao" và "Cao".

Như vậy, theo thang điểm chung của AMB thì Việt Nam nằm ở bậc CRT-4 (rủi ro cao). Trong số các nước Đông Nam Á thì có Philippines và Indonesia cũng đang nằm ở bậc này. Singapore là nước duy nhất trong khu vực nằm ở bậc an toàn nhất là là CRT-1.
