Theo báo cáo của Chi cục Dân số - Kế hoạch hóa gia đình Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh, trong nửa đầu năm 2015 số trẻ em sinh ra là 21 nghìn (Ủy Ban Nhân Dân Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh, 2015) và theo thống kê của Nielsen, có 550 nghìn trẻ em cả nước đang sử dụng sữa bột (Nielsen, 2015). Như vậy, địa bàn này sẽ là một thị trường đầy tiềm năng để kinh doanh sản phẩm sữa bột dành cho trẻ em. Bên cạnh đó, Tổng cục Thống kê đã đưa ra tổng mức hàng hóa bán lẻ và doanh thu dịch vụ tiêu dùng tháng 9/2015 ước tính đạt 270,6 nghìn tỷ đồng, tăng 9,7% so với cùng kì năm 2014 (Thu Nga, 2015). Điều này có nghĩa người dân cả nước nói chung và địa bàn Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh nói riêng đang chi tiêu nhiều hơn cho việc ăn uống, làm tiền đề tích cực cho lượng sữa tiêu thụ trong năm nay
