A nearly statistic of HCMC Department of Heath have shown that 70% in 31,000 food-processing and food-business units in this city had not conformed to food safety standards, while about 75% the amount of food consumption in the country had been provided by units in HCMC
At Hanoi's markets, according to the report of the departments concerned, each 4 in 5 meat samples was not conformed to microbiology standards, most of spinach samples was infected over the set standard by coliform bacteria. According to Ministry of Health, almost street-food business units are always not abiding by regulations about food safety, and the sources of these foods are unclear.
