+ Nhạc Rock hay còn gọi là Rock N Roll được sáng lập bởi Elvis Presley vào thập kỷ 50. Rock dựa trên tiết tấu của ba dòng nhạc trước đó là blues, jazz, country nhưng có tiết tấu mạnh và nhanh hơn. Thường sử dụng các loại nhạc cụ điện tử mà không thể thiếu là guitar bass. Rock không chú trọng đến vấn đề hát mà chú ý đến hiệu ứng âm thanh của các loại nhạc cụ hơn. Rock có 2 thể loại chính là: folk rock và hard rock
+ Folk rock: Với chất liệu tinh khiết của mình, cộng đồng dân ca rất tự hào rằng folk rock chỉ có giá trị khi các ca khúc được chơi với nhạc cụ dân gian, họ coi rock'n'roll là thô thiển và thương mại. Vào thập niên 60 một số ban nhạc Rock như: Cream hay Blind Faith đã được xếp vào hạng ban nhạc đỉnh nhất bởi được trình diễn ở sân khấu lớn và kiếm được một khoản siêu lợi nhuận.
+ Ngoài ra còn rất nhiều thể loại rock khác như: psychedelic rock, soft rock, progressive rock, glam rock, blue rock, alternative rock, punk rock, swamp rock.
