Kết thúc phiên đàm phán về hợp tác phát triển giữa hai nước Việt Nam –Cộng hòa Liên bang Đức ngày 15/12, Chính phủ Đức cam kết viện trợ cho Việt Nam hơn 288 triệu euro trong 2 năm 2012-2013 để thực hiện các dự án hợp tác phát triển trong các lĩnh vực như: bảo vệ môi trường, y tế, giáo dục, đào tạo nghề, thích ứng với biến đổi khí hậu, phát triển năng lượng sạch và tái tạo....
Trong đó, 1 triệu euro Đức giúp Việt Nam khắc phục thiệt hại do lũ lụt gây ra tại miền Trung và ĐBSCL. Ông Klaus Wunderlich, Đại sứ Đức tại Việt Nam cho biết, thông qua phiên đàm phán này, hai bên thống nhất tiếp tục xây dựng những chương trình hỗ trợ, các dự án bảo vệ môi trường và khí hậu cũng như các dự án hỗ trợ để thích nghi với biến đổi khí hậu là một phần quan trọng của sự hợp tác giữa hai nước.
