Được thiết kế để giảm thiểu gánh nặng kết nối mạng cho người dùng, Facebook Lite thực hiện được một số điều tốt nhưng vẫn còn nhiều hạn chế.
Được giới thiệu từ cách đây khá lâu, ứng dụng Facebook "mạng chậm" được đánh giá sẽ là công cụ hữu hiệu cho những quốc gia có tốc độ Internet chậm hoặc dành cho những quốc gia thường xuyên... đứt cáp như Việt Nam. Bằng việc hạn chế tối đa các chuyển động, hiệu ứng trên ứng dụng Facebook thông thường, ứng dụng này sẽ giúp người dùng sử dụng các tính năng cơ bản nhất với tốc độ tải trang nhanh hơn, tiết kiệm cước phí viễn thông hơn.

Trong thử nghiệm, ứng dụng cho phép người dùng sử dụng các tính năng cơ bản, loại bỏ toàn bộ các đoạn video trên Facebook cũng như sử dụng một bộ sticker tối giản giúp giảm thiểu lượng thông tin phải tải về máy. Mặc dù vậy, thử nghiệm cũng cho thấy tốc độ tải nội dung của Facebook Lite không chênh lệch nhiều so với ứng dụng Facebook thông thường, đôi khi Facebook Lite tỏ ra khá chậm chạp dù chỉ thực hiện những tác vụ đơn giản.

Nhìn chung, Facebook Lite chưa thật sự tốt khi so sánh với ứng dụng Facebook thông thường. Mặc dù hứa hẹn sẽ giúp cho việc kết nối mạng xã hội của các quốc gia đang phát triển trở nên tiện hơn tuy nhiên thử nghiệm thực tế chưa cho thấy độ ưu việt của ứng dụng Facebook Lite này. Suy cho cùng, Facebook Lite có lẽ chỉ là một phiên bản "cắt gọt" của Facebook khi loại bỏ nhiều tính năng cũng như thay đổi giao diện tối giản hơn còn trải nghiệm Facebook mượt mà cho những ngày "cá mập" có lẽ vẫn là dấu hỏi lớn chưa có câu trả lời.

Facebook Lite hiện tại được phát triển trên nền tảng Android, bạn có thể tải về ứng dụng này tại đây. Đa phần các thiết bị đều có thể sử dụng Facebook Lite khi mà phần mềm này chỉ chiếm chưa tới 1MB bộ nhớ và yêu cầu hệ điều hành Android 2.2 trở lên để có thể vận hành.

However, the test also showed that the speed of Facebook Lite download content not much different than the usual Facebook application, Facebook Lite is sometimes proved to be quite slow even perform simple tasks.

Overall, Facebook Lite is not really good when compared to regular Facebook app. Despite promises to make social networking the developing countries become more convenient but not practical test showed the superiority of the Vietnamese Facebook Lite application.
