Phần lớn công nghiệp tập trung ở vùng phía Đông nước Nhật. Riêng ba trung tâm công nghiệp là Tokyo- Osaka- Nayoga chỉ chiếm 1,25% diện tích cả nước nhưng tập trung tới 60 triệu dân và hơn 50% sản lượng công nghiệp. Trong khi đó các vùng phía Tây còn trong tình trạng lạc hậu.

That is the serious imbalance between the economic region, between the modern manufacturing capabilities with backward infrastructure, between finance and credit, between potential of industry and agriculture. The majority of industry is concentrated in the eastern region of Japan. Three private industrial center is the Tokyo-Osaka-Nayoga only 1.25 percent of the country but concentrate up to 60 million people and more than 50% of the industrial output. Meanwhile the western regions still in State of backwardness.
