ICT tác động đến lối sống của sinh viên trước hết ở lĩnh vực tư tưởng. Truyền thông đại chúng giáo dục một cách hệ thống những tri thức cơ sở, quan trọng như: triết học, kinh tế chính trị học, các học thuyết xã hội về quy luật lịch sử, các bài học mang tính quy luật trong tiến trình vận động của xã hội… Đây là những tri thức làm cơ sở, điều kiện cho sự hình thành thế giới quan, nhân sinh quan khoa học, tính tích cực cho sinh viên, những lý tưởng sống, những giá trị hiện thực.
