Việt Nam chưa phải thị trường ưu tiên của các hãng sản xuất đồng hồ thông minh. Sony sau khi ra mắt 2 thế hệ smartwatch và thu được kết quả khiêm tốn đã bỏ qua thị trường Việt Nam ở thế hệ Smartwatch 3. Apple Watch chính hãng phải đợi gần một năm sau khi ra mắt (tháng 4/2015) bắt đầu bán ở Việt Nam (cuối tháng 1/2016). Nhiều hãng sản xuất khác như LG, Huawei, Motorola, Asus không bán smartwatch tại Việt Nam. Chỉ có Samsung là ông lớn duy nhất đều đặn cập nhật tất cả sản phẩm dạng đeo tay thông minh của mình với người dùng trong nước
