Khi các yêu cầu đó không được thõa mãn, ngân hàng phát hành từ chối bộ chứng từ và không thanh toán. Lúc đó, nhà NK sẽ có lợi thế để thương lượng lại giá cả nằm ngoài điều khoản L/C và nhà xuất khẩu sẽ bất lợi.
