Tính đến cuối tháng 3/2014, cả nước có trên 15.500 máy rút tiền tự động (ATM) và trên 137.700 điểm chấp nhận thanh toán thẻ (POS) được lắp đặt, tăng lần lượt 8,4% và 31,7% so với cuối năm 2012.

Tiếp đến, ngày 31/12/2013, Chính phủ ban hành Nghị định 222/2013/NĐ-CP quy định về thanh toán bằng tiền mặt. Trong đó, Điều 6 quy định các doanh nghiệp (DN) không thanh toán bằng tiền mặt trong các giao dịch góp vốn và mua bán, chuyển nhượng phần vốn góp vào DN; các DN không phải tổ chức tín dụng không sử dụng tiền mặt khi vay và cho vay lẫn nhau.

Theo NHNN, tính đến cuối tháng 3/2014, cả nước có trên 15.500 máy rút tiền tự động (ATM) và trên 137.700 điểm chấp nhận thanh toán thẻ (POS) được lắp đặt, tăng lần lượt 8,4% và 31,7% so với cuối năm 2012. Trong năm 2013, số lượng và giá trị giao dịch qua POS tại Việt Nam tăng trưởng khá cao, đạt trên 28 triệu giao dịch và đạt trên 120.700 tỷ đồng, tăng tương ứng 34% và 26% so với năm 2012.
