Đại sứ Franz Jessen cho biết, quá trình đàm phán Hiệp định FTA đến nay diễn ra khá suôn sẻ. Vấn đề còn tồn tại ở đây chỉ là khác biệt giữa sự kỳ vọng của EU và Việt Nam vào sự hình thành của Hiệp định FTA. Hai bên hiện đang nỗ lực làm việc cùng nhau để giải quyết vấn đề và cũng đã có những biến chuyển căn bản về thiện chí của hai bên.
