Tiềm năng thu hút vốn đầu tư FDI từ Nhật Bản có nhiều yếu tố thuận lợi từ cả phía Nhật Bản và Việt Nam. Nhật Bản có khoảng 4,7 triệu doanh nghiệp SMEs, chiếm 99,7% tổng số doanh nghiệp tại Nhật, có công nghệ kỹ thuật hiện đại và đang có xu hướng đầu tư ra nước ngoài trong khi Việt Nam đang có nhu cầu phát triển công nghiệp hỗ trợ và thu hút đầu tư của các doanh nghiệp SMEs. Những tồn tại, yếu kém liên quan đến môi trường đầu tư, công nghiệp phụ trợ, trình độ người lao động (năng suất, kỹ năng) là những vấn đề lớn mà Việt Nam hiện đang và sẽ phải tiếp tục khắc phục để nâng cao hiệu quả thu hút FDI từ các nước nói chung và từ Nhật Bản nói riêng.

The potential to attract investment FDI from Japan have many favorable factors from both Japan and Vietnam. Japan has about 4.7 million SMEs, accounting for 99.7% of total business in Japan, there are modern techniques and technology tend to invest abroad while Vietnam needs are supporting industrial development and attracting investment by SMEs. These exist, weak investment environment-related, industrial, ancillary workers (productivity, skill) is the major issue that Vietnam currently and will have to continue the remedy to improve the effectiveness of attracting FDI from countries and from Japan in particular.

Potential to attract FDI from Japan has many favorable factors from both Japan and Vietnam. Japan has about 4.7 million SMEs, accounting for 99.7% of all firms in Japan, with modern technology and tend to invest abroad while Vietnam has demand supporting industries and attracting investment by SMEs. Shortcomings, weaknesses related to the investment climate, support industries, qualified employees (productivity, skills) are the major problems that Vietnam is currently and will continue to overcome to improve efficiency to attract FDI from the country in general and in particular from Japan.
