Ngày 24/4, Chính phủ có phiên giải trình trước Ủy ban Văn hóa Giáo dục Thanh thiếu niên và nhi đồng về việc thực hiện Luật giáo dục đại học và vấn đề giải quyết việc làm cho sinh viên tốt nghiệp.

Theo Bộ Giáo dục và Đào tạo, từ năm 2011 đến 2014, chỉ tiêu tuyển sinh chính quy của các trường giảm 18%. Năm 2011 có 318.400 người tốt nghiệp cao đẳng, đại học. Năm 2012 con số này là 402.300 và 2013 là 425.200. Trên cơ sở báo cáo của 100 trường đại học, cao đẳng, trung cấp chuyên nghiệp cho thấy giai đoạn 2010-2014, trung bình tỷ lệ sinh viên tốt nghiệp sau 3 tháng có việc làm đạt khoảng 50%, trong đó có cơ sở giáo dục tỷ lệ này cao hơn, đạt 80-90%.

Đại biểu Nguyễn Xuân Trường cho rằng, dù con số trên rất khả quan nhưng cũng có nhiều dấu hỏi về tính thực tế của nó. Báo cáo giám sát của Ủy ban Văn hóa Giáo dục Thanh thiếu niên và nhi đồng cho thấy tỷ lệ sinh viên tốt nghiệp chưa có việc làm, đặc biệt là làm đúng chuyên ngành còn cao.
