I suffered a severe hand injury three years ago and was no longer able to hunt with my regular bow, a Parker Wildfire XP. I didn't want to give up bow hunting for deer so I decided to try a crossbow. Cabelas had this one on sale and along with my reward points, I got it for about $240 total. I have now shot at two deer with it and got both. A 5 point Colorado mulie last year and my first ever true non typical buck last friday morning. Another 5 point Co mulie. I ave found the Recruit to be a very good choice for all around deer hunting. I was amazed at the power it had. The only flaw I have found is the bolt hold down is a little weak. Sometimes the bolt will tend to slip forward causing the anti dry fire to engage. I have had this happen twice while trying to shoot at a deer. I now make it a habit to check before every opportunity at a shot to be sure bolt is fully seated. Otherwise, I ave had no problems with it. I did change from the factory bolts to a higher grade. I am now using Gold Tip 396 Swifts with Rage slip cam heads. They got it done this year on the non typical with a perfect pass through on both lungs. I hope to continue using this bow for many years. Thanks for a good product at a very reasonable price. But I would like to see you do something about that hold down. Thanks again, Earl
