Phân tích các nhân tố tác động đến tăng trưởng kinh tế nói chung và mối quan hệ giữa hiệu quả của khu vực tài chính với tăng trưởng kinh tế của mỗi quốc gia đã được thực hiện trong rất nhiều các nghiên cứu khác nhau trên thế giới. Đối với hệ thống tài chính của VN thì các ngân hàng thương mại chiếm giữ vị trí vô cùng quan trọng trong quá trình giúp nguồn vốn của nền kinh tế được lưu thông góp phần thúc đẩy tăng trưởng kinh tế.
