Theo chúng tôi, cho đến giờ vẫn chưa có một định nghĩa chính thống nào về “quả chuối”, nên chúng tôi tạm đưa ra định nghĩa của chúng tôi. “Quả chuối” là một thiết bị điện tử, mà khi cắm guitar điện qua đó, âm thanh sẽ biến đổi (ít hoặc nhiều) hoặc tín hiệu được xử lý để sử dụng cho nhiều mục đích khác nhau.

*Note: Một số bạn dùng chữ fuzz thay cho chữ quả chuối, theo chúng tôi là không đúng. Fuzz là một loại quả chuối, thuộc vào loại overdrive hoặc distortion cho ra 1 loại tiếng rất đặc trưng. Việc dùng chữ fuzz thay cho quả chuối, nó cũng buồn cười như việc bạn dùng chữ wah thay cho quả chuối, hoặc dùng chữ delay thay cho quả chuối vậy.
