Ngày 26/9, tại huyện Thạch Thất, Sở Y tế Hà Nội đã phối hợp với UBND huyện Thạch Thất tổ chức mít tinh, diễu hành hưởng ứng Ngày Thế giới phòng chống bệnh dại (28/9).

Theo Sở Y tế Hà Nội, năm 2014 toàn thành phố ghi nhận 5 trường hợp tử vong do bệnh dại, chủ yếu ở các tỉnh ngoại thành. Từ đầu năm 2015 đến nay đã ghi nhận 1 trường hợp dại lên cơn tại xã La Phù (huyện Hoài Đức). Qua điều tra dịch tễ, các trường hợp tử vong bị chó cắn đều không được đi tiêm vắc xin phòng bệnh dại.

Phát biểu tại lễ mít tinh, ông Trần Đắc Phu - Cục trưởng Cục y tế dự phòng (Bộ Y tế) đề nghị, ngành y tế Hà Nội cần phối hợp với thú y thường xuyên theo dõi tình hình bệnh dại trên gia súc nhất là những nơi có ổ dịch cũ để triển khai các biện pháp phòng chống bệnh dại. Từ đó, hạn chế thấp nhất lây bệnh dại từ gia súc sang người; mỗi người dân, cần chủ động tiêm vaccine phòng chống bệnh dại cho cả người và động vật, bởi tiêm vaccine là biện pháp hiệu quả nhất để phòng bệnh dại.
Để đẩy mạnh công tác phòng chống bệnh dại tại cộng đồng, ông Hoàng Đức Hạnh - Phó Giám đốc Sở Y tế Hà Nội cho biết, Sở đã tập trung tư vấn, tuyên truyền kiến thức phòng chống bệnh dại đến người dân, tăng cường năng lực chuyên môn của cán bộ y tế tại các điểm tiêm chủng đáp ứng nhu cầu của người dân khi bị phơi nhiễm đến tiêm và điều trị dự phòng bệnh dại; phối hợp chặt chẽ với ngành thú y trong việc giám sát, kiểm soát nguy cơ lây bệnh từ động vật sang người, quản lý đàn vật nuôi, tiêm phòng bệnh dại cho chó, mèo… nhằm giảm thiểu mức thấp nhất tỷ lệ mắc và tử vong về bệnh dại trên người.

Sau lễ mít tinh, các lực lượng tham dự đã tham gia diễu hành, tuyên truyền công tác phòng, chống bệnh dại trên các tuyến đường thuộc địa bàn huyện Thạch Thất. Theo số liệu được công bố, hằng năm ở VN có trung bình khoảng 400.000 người bị chó, mèo cắn phải điều trị dự phòng bằng vắc xin dại, gây phí tổn khoảng 300 tỉ đồng. Từ đầu năm đến nay, cả nước có 46 ca tử vong do dại xảy ra tại 22 tỉnh.

Để tiến tới loại trừ bệnh dại đến năm 2020, chính quyền các cấp cần phân bổ nguồn nhân lực cho công tác phòng, chống dại cũng như nâng cao dịch vụ y tế, thú y. Bệnh dại chỉ có thể loại trừ nếu quản lý tốt đàn chó và ít nhất 70% đàn chó thực tế được tiêm phòng. Trong đó, tập trung vào việc nâng cao tỷ lệ tiêm phòng, điều tra ổ dịch và nâng cao năng lực hệ thống phòng thí nghiệm cho cả y tế và thú y.
