Để tiến hành hoạt động thiết kế cho dự án đầu tư xây dựng công trình mới, công ty thuê các nhà thầu tư vấn thiết kế lập kế hoạch thực hiện chi tiết và giám sát các hoạt động này, trong đó chỉ rõ:
- Các giai đoạn của quá trình thiết kế: bắt đầu từ phân tích các yêu cầu của dự án, xác định mục tiêu cho đến khi hoàn thiện các hạng mục thi công theo các bản vẽ thiết kế được lập;
- Thủ tục, thẩm quyền xem xét, kiểm tra và xác nhận kết quả đầu ra thích hợp cho mỗi giai đoạn thiết kế (bao gồm cả thiết kế tổng thể và thiết kế chi tiết);
- Trách nhiệm và quyền hạn cụ thể của các thành viên trong nhóm thiết kế của các nhà thầu tư vấn thiết kế đối với từng nhiệm vụ trong quá trình thiết kế.
Công ty quản lý sự phối hợp giữa tư vấn thiết kế và các phòng ban khác nhau tham dự vào hoạt động thiết kế nhằm đảm bảo sự trao đổi thông tin có hiệu quả và phân công trách nhiệm rõ ràng.
Trong quá trình thiết kế, khi các điều kiện hoàn cảnh thay đổi, chẳng hạn như có thay đổi về quy mô dự án hoặc về quy hoạch, bản kế hoạch thiết kế phải được sửa đổi và cập nhật sao cho phù hợp.
