Về cơ bản, các giáo trình về giáo dục học ở Việt Nam đều trình bày “Giáo dục là hiện tượng xã hội đặc biệt, bản chất của nó là sự truyền đạt và lĩnh hội kinh nghiệm lịch sử – xã hội của các thế hệ loài người”. Định nghĩa này nhấn mạnh về sự truyền đạt và lĩnh hội giữa các thế hệ, nhấn mạnh đến yếu tố dạy học, nhưng không đề cập đến mục đích sâu xa hơn, mục đích cuối cùng của việc đó.

Basically, the educational curriculum studied in Vietnam were present "education is a special social phenomena, the nature of it is communication and socio-historical experience of generations of mankind". This definition emphasizes on communication and between the generations, emphasise to the teaching element, but does not mention the deeper purpose, the ultimate goal of getting there.
