Giai đoạn 1996 - 2000: ACB là ngân hàng thương mại cổ phần đầu tiên của
Việt Nam phát hành thẻ tín dụng quốc tế MasterCard và Visa
Giai đoạn 2001 – 2005: Năm 2003, ACB xây dựng hệ thống quản lý chất lượng
theo tiêu chuẩn ISO 9001:2000 trong các lĩnh vực (i) huy động vốn, (ii) cho vay
ngắn hạn và trung dài hạn, (iii) thanh toán quốc tế và (iv) cung ứng nguồn lực tại
Hội sở.
Năm 2004, Công ty Quản lý nợ và Khai thác tài sản Ngân hàng Á Châu
(ACBA) được thành lập.
Năm 2005, ACB và Ngân hàng Standard Charterd (SCB) ký kết thỏa thuận hỗ trợ kỹ thuật toàn diện; và SCB trở thành cổ đông chiến lược của ACB.

In 2005, the ACB and Standard Charterd Bank (SCB) signed the agreement for comprehensive technical support; and SCB became the strategic shareholders of ACB.
