Information on is GS.TS. Le Quang Cuong, Vice Minister of the Ministry of health, Vietnam reported at the regional Conference for the Western Pacific of the World Health Organization (WHO) 65th place from October 3-17/10/2014 in Manila, Philippines.At the meeting, Vietnam share some success striking that Vietnam achieved over the past year as: Vietnam is the international community as one of the 10 countries that are in the right pathway to successfully implement Millennium development goal 4 (reducing maternal mortality) and 5 (reducing child mortality under 5 years of age) (the report of the Forum Group for cooperation of the health of women and children in South Africa 6/2014).In the past 20 years, the rate of death in pregnant women and infants in Vietnam has tended to decrease. The rate of mortality of pregnant women declined from 233/100,000 in 1990 to 61.9 per 100,000 by the year 2013 (dropped more than three times) and the rate of children below five years old mortality decreased from 59 per 1,000 children to 23/1,000 children (reduced more than twice). Number of children under an age of rising death rates from 44.4 per 1,000 children to 15.3 per 1,000 children. In addition, the number of children under age 5 suffer from malnutrition also dropped from 41% to 15.3%.Vietnam also adopted the revised Health Insurance Act in June 2014, with a number of new point as the compulsory health insurance, join a health insurance under household, extended benefits and bonus levels, distributed online clinical practice. It is regarded as one of the milestones mark the process toward full health coverage in Vietnam. Besides, Vietnam has also achieved the minimum capacity required by the international health regulations (IHR), on the basis of applying the strategy Asia Pacific about the prevention of emerging infectious diseases of the World Health Organization (APSED).
