việc UNESCO công nhận các di sản, khu dự trữ sinh quyển... cũng đã giới thiệu hình ảnh Việt Nam đến với bạn bè quốc tế. Trong thời kỳ hoà bình và hội nhập, chúng ta cần phải làm nổi bật những giá trị của dân tộc Việt Nam có bề dày văn hoá-lịch sử đặc sắc, có sức sống mãnh liệt, giàu tiềm năng và có nhiều thành tựu trong đổi mới, người dân Việt Nam cần cù sáng tạo, thân thiện và yêu chuộng hoà bình.

Sắp tới chúng ta sẽ tiếp tục vận động UNESCO công nhận khu Trung tâm Hoàng thành Thăng Long là di sản văn hoá; hát Ca trù, Dân ca quan họ Bắc Ninh, lễ hội Gióng là di sản văn hoá phi vật thể; hồ sơ “Bia tiến sĩ Văn Miếu - Quốc Tử Giám”, tác phẩm Vừa đi đường vừa kể chuyện của Chủ tịch Hồ Chí Minh vào Chương trình Ký ức thế giới... hay Cao nguyên đá Đồng Văn là công viên địa chất thế giới... Đây là những cơ hội cho việc tuyên truyền, quảng bá tạo những hình ảnh tốt hơn về đất nước, con người và văn hoá Việt Nam.
