Thành phố Đà Nẵng, một thành phố biển duyên hải miền trung Việt Nam, thường xuyên phải hứng chịu những tác động nặng nệ của biến đổi khí hậu cũng như những rủi ro thiên tai khác. Nhận thức được tầm quan trọng của vấn đề này, chính quyền thành phố đã sớm chỉ đạo các sở ban ngành thực hiện các công tác nhằm nâng cao khả năng chống chịu của thành phố đối với biến đổi khí hậu. Một trong những hướng đi của VP đó là tìm kiếm và mở rộng hợp tác đối với các tổ chức quốc tế. Chính vì vậy, ban lãnh đạo VP đã hết sức vui mừng khi nhận được lời mời phối hợp tham gia tổ chức Chương trình tập huấn “Xây dựng khả năng chống chịu cho đô thị tại khu vực Châu Á Thái Bình Dương” tại Đà Nẵng. Văn phòng nhận định Chương trình tập huấn lần này là một cơ hội quý báu để VP có thể chia sẻ về các hoạt động nâng cao khả năng chống chịu của thành phố mà VP đã triển khai cũng như học hỏi thêm từ những kinh nghiệm quốc tế trong vấn đề. Chính vì vậy, Văn phòng đã tích cực phối hợp với ADB và IHS triển khai cho công tác chuẩn bị cho Chương trình tập với mong muốn đem lại một hội thảo bổ ích thiết thực nhất cho những thành viên tham dự. Văn phòng hy vọng, quý vị đại biểu sẽ có thêm những hiểu biết mới về khả năng thích ứng của các thành phố ở khu vực châu á thái bình dương cũng như những trải nghiệm thú vị trong thời gian tham gia chương trình tập huấn tại thành phố Đà Nẵng.
