Mặc dù các ước tính khác nhau đôi khi gây ra sự nhầm lẫn, sự phát triển liên tục và nhấn mạnh về các phương pháp nghiêm ngặt để đo lường đã góp phần vào một khái niệm tốt hơn về nghèo đói trên một phần của chính phủ và cộng đồng nghiên cứu chính sách ở Việt Nam. Hơn nữa, tỷ lệ hộ nghèo cao được sản xuất bằng phương pháp Tổng cục Thống kê, đặc biệt là trong năm 1990, giúp giữ nghèo cao trong chương trình nghị sự của chính phủ.

Although various estimates sometimes cause confusion, the continuous development and emphasis on rigorous methods to measure has contributed to a better concept of poverty on the part of the Government and the policy research community in Vietnam. Moreover, the high poverty rate is produced by method Of statistics, especially in the 1990s, helping keep poverty high on the agenda of the Government.
