Việt Nam cam kết chính trị mạnh về chống biến đổi khí hậu

Phát biểu tại Hội nghị lần thứ 21 Công ước khung của Liên Hiệp Quốc về biến đổi khí hậu (COP21), Thủ tướng Nguyễn Tấn Dũng nhấn mạnh triển khai thành công Chương trình nghị sự 2030 vì sự phát triển bền vững của Liên Hiệp Quốc đòi hỏi các quốc gia phải có quyết tâm chính trị mạnh mẽ và hợp tác chặt chẽ trong thực hiện nghiêm túc, đầy đủ, hiệu quả Thỏa thuận khí hậu toàn cầu sau năm 2020.
Phát biểu trước 150 lãnh đạo các nước và lãnh đạo các tổ chức quốc tế đại diện cho 196 thành viên tham gia COP21, Thủ tướng Nguyễn Tấn Dũng nêu rõ: “Chúng ta có mặt tại Hội nghị COP21 để bày tỏ cam kết ủng hộ, thúc đẩy tiến trình đàm phán và thông qua Thỏa thuận khí hậu toàn cầu sau năm 2020. Nội dung thỏa thuận cần bảo đảm sự đóng góp công bằng giữa các quốc gia và có sự cân bằng trong các nội dung về giảm nhẹ, thích ứng, tài chính, phát triển và chuyển giao công nghệ... Các nước phát triển cần đi đầu trong việc thực hiện cam kết của mình, đồng thời hỗ trợ và tăng cường năng lực cho các nước đang phát triển để cùng nhau thực hiện thành công thỏa thuận”.
Thủ tướng cũng khẳng định cam kết chính trị mạnh mẽ của Chính phủ Việt Nam tiếp tục cùng cộng đồng quốc tế chung tay nỗ lực ứng phó với biến đổi khí hậu.
Thủ tướng Nguyễn Tấn Dũng cho biết từ nay đến năm 2020, trong điều kiện khó khăn về nguồn lực nhưng Việt Nam tiếp tục tích cực triển khai chiến lược, chương trình, kế hoạch về ứng phó với biến đổi khí hậu trên nhiều lĩnh vực với các biện pháp thiết thực; thực hiện nghiêm túc các nghĩa vụ trong Công ước khung của Liên Hiệp Quốc về biến đổi khí hậu và Nghị định thư Kyoto.
Thể hiện rõ cam kết bằng những hành động cụ thể, Thủ tướng khẳng định Việt Nam sẽ đóng góp 1 triệu USD vào Quỹ khí hậu xanh giai đoạn 2016 - 2020
