Trong công việc, chuẩn mực đạo đức nghĩa là:
 Giữ vững giá trị chuẩn mực đạo đức trên tinh thần của các nguyên lý, điều lệ và nguyên tắc chỉ đạo phù hợp với văn hoá của PetroVietnam
 Không lạm dụng quyền lực hay chức vụ
 Đề cao trách nhiệm cá nhân, không lẩn tránh hoặc đùn đẩy trách nhiệm cho người khác
 Loại trừ biểu hiện đối xử không bình đẳng và thiếu tôn trọng lẫn nhau
 Tuân thủ pháp luật, tuân thủ các quy định của Tập đoàn, Nhà nước và của PetroVietnam
 Thẳng thắn thừa nhận và học hỏi từ những sai lầm của chính mình
