Chuyên đề này có tính ứng dụng các vấn đề lí thuyết vào xử lí một loại hình văn bản. Tôi định hướng cho học viên tiếp cận các vấn đề của văn bản nghệ thuật trên cơ sở quan điểm ngôn ngữ học, đặc biệt là quan điểm của phân tích diễn ngôn như là phân tích ngữ cảnh, phân tích cấu trúc và nội dung, …. 
Mặt khác, theo đường hướng phân tích diễn ngôn của dụng học, tôi cũng định hướng cho học viên phân tích tác phẩm văn học từ việc phân tích sự chuyển hóa của các yếu tố dụng học trong hoạt động giao tiếp vào tác phẩm văn học như là tác giả hàm ẩn, người kể chuyện, nhân vật trữ tình (người nói, người tạo lập văn bản), nhân vật (hiện thực được nói đến), người nghe/ người đọc (người tiếp nhận) và phân tích các hành vi ngôn ngữ...

2.2. VỀ HƯỚNG DẪN NGHIÊN CỨU KHOA HỌC
Tôi đã hướng dẫn thành công 20 khóa luận tốt nghiệp, 13 luận văn Thạc sĩ chuyên ngành Ngôn ngữ học tại Trường Đại học Sư phạm Hà Nội và đang hướng dẫn phụ 1 nghiên cứu sinh.
Các đề tài do tôi hướng dẫn chủ yếu tập trung theo hướng nghiên cứu chủ đạo của tôi là  ngôn ngữ nghệ thuật.

Ở hướng nghiên cứu thứ hai, Các vấn đề của Phong cách học, tôi đã và đang hướng dẫn các đề tài sau đây: Đặc điểm của ngôn ngữ quảng cáo truyền hình, Khóa luận tốt nghiệp, người thực hiện: Nguyễn Thị Hồng, 2012; Chức năng thẩm mĩ của các yếu tố ngôn từ trong thơ (Qua khảo sát tập “Về Kinh Bắc” của Hoàng Cầm), Khóa luận tốt nghiệp, người thực hiện: Nguyễn Thị Quỳnh Trang, 2015… Tính tương tác của diễn ngôn báo chí qua một số báo điện từ phổ biến hiện nay, Luận án Tiến sĩ, người thực hiện: Vũ Thị Hồng Tiệp (Dự kiến bảo vệ 2017)…

KẾT LUẬN
Những gì tôi đã làm được còn rất nhỏ bé trên con đường khoa học đầy gian nan. Tuy nhiên, tôi hy vọng được Nhà trường và ngành Ngôn ngữ học ghi nhận những cố gắng này. Tôi cũng thấu hiểu rằng mình còn phải kiên trì và nỗ lực hơn nữa để có thể đóng góp thêm được những gì có ý nghĩa với nghề, với ngành và với các thế hệ học trò trên chặng đường phía trước.
