Third, responding to the call by Guerci et al. (2016) in studying the mediating effects in the relationship of green intellectual capital and corporate environmental performance, this study sheds light on the role of green HRM and employees' pro-environmental behavior . Research has identified green intellectual capital as a precursor to green HRM in building an organizational culture that puts environmental performance at the heart (Latan et al., 2018; Handorai et al,). This further contributes to the literature, showing the positive impact of green HRM acting as a mediating mechanism between organizational resource factors and organizational outcomes (Jackson et al. , 2014). In the process, research also shows the mediating effect of employee willingness to demonstrate environmentally friendly behaviors in the success of environmental programs (Ansari et al., 2021). . Furthermore, previous studies were limited in exploring employees' pro-environmental behavior in the relationship between green intellectual capital and environmental performance, so the study filled this gap by investigating the mediating mechanism of employee willingness as a green research stream needs further academic focus (Dumont et al., 2017).
