1. Diễn đàn Hợp tác Kinh tế châu Á - Thái Bình Dương
Hợp tác Kinh tế châu Á – Thái Bình Dương (gọi tắt là APEC) là tổ chức quốc tế của các quốc gia nằm trong khu vực châu Á – Thái Bình Dương với mục tiêu tăng cường mối quan hệ về kinh tế và chính trị. Cho đến nay, hầu hết các nước nằm bên bờ Thái Bình Dương đều gia nhập tổ chức này.
APEC được thành lập vào tháng 11 năm 1989 với 12 thành viên sáng lập: Úc, Nhật Bản, Malaysia, Hàn Quốc, Thái Lan, Philippines, Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia, New Zealand, Canada và Hoa Kỳ.
Hiện nay, APEC gồm 21 thành viên. Ngoài 12 thành viên sáng lập, các thành viên khác bao gồm: Cộng hòa Nhân dân Trung Hoa, Hồng Kông, Đài Loan, Mexico, Papua New Guinea, Chile, Peru, Nga và Việt Nam.
Người đứng đầu chính phủ của tất cả thành viên APEC gặp nhau mỗi năm một lần trong một kỳ họp thượng đỉnh được gọi là "Hội nghị Lãnh đạo APEC", được tổ chức lần lượt tại mỗi nền kinh tế thành viên APEC.
2. Quan hệ kinh tế Việt Nam - Liên minh châu Âu
Quan hệ kinh tế, thương mại Việt Nam với các nước thành viên của Liên minh châu Âu (EU) đã có từ lâu. Mối quan hệ ấy đặc biệt phát triển nhanh kể từ khi Việt Nam và EU thiết lập quan hệ ngoại giao năm 1990. Liên Minh châu Âu đã và đang trở thành một đối tác quan trọng, và là một thị trường rộng lớn có khả năng tiêu thụ nhiều loại sản phẩm của Việt Nam như giầy dép, dệt may, thủ công mỹ nghệ, sản phẩm nhựa, và đồ điện tử.
3. Năm 2006, EU đã thông qua chiến lược hợp tác với Việt Nam trong giai đoạn 2006-2010. Chiến lược này nhằm tạo điều kiện tăng tốc nỗ lực xoá đói giảm nghèo trong chiến lược phát triển bền vững. Theo đó, EU dự kiến trợ giúp 162 triệu euro tập trung vào 2 lĩnh vực: tăng cường phát triển nguồn nhân lực, và trợ giúp cải cách kinh tế Việt Nam theo hướng cơ chế thị trường để nhanh chóng hội nhập với kinh tế khu vực và thế giới.

4. Hội nghị Bộ trưởng Tài chính khối ASEAN sẽ tổ chức tại Rangoon Myanmar vào đầu tháng này. Hội nghị sẽ kéo dài trong 2 ngày, mồng 6 và mồng 7 tháng 4. Các đại biểu tham dự sẽ báo cáo về tình hình tài chính trong nước và trong khu vực. Hội nghị cũng sẽ thảo luận về các giải pháp nhằm phục hồi nhanh kinh tế khu vực.

Tuy nhiên, giới chuyên môn cho rằng các nhà xuất khẩu Việt Nam sẽ phải đương đầu với nhiều thách thức lớn khi thâm nhập vào thị trường Mỹ. Một trong những thách thức này là thế nào để cạnh tranh với hàng hóa nhập vào Mỹ từ các nước khác như Trung Quốc, Nam Triều Tiên.

6.Hiện nay, trong số hơn 180.000 doanh nghiệp Việt Nam, tỷ lệ phụ nữ là giám đốc và là chủ doanh nghiệp chiếm khoảng 21%. Các doanh nhân nữ đã nêu cao tinh thần trách nhiệ m, giữ chữ tín và tạo được mối quan hệ tốt trong kinh doanh.

7.Theo tin từ Bộ Lao động Thương binh Xã hội, con số lao động Việt Nam đi nước ngoài đã tăng vọt trong 6 tháng đầu năm. Theo ước tính thì tổng số công nhân Việt Nam đi lao động ở nước ngoài trong năm 2003 sẽ lên đến 70.000 người. Trong đó, 4 thị trường lao động trọng điểm là Nhật Bản, Hàn Quốc, Indonesia và Đài Loan.

8. Kết quả nghiên cứu do một nhóm các bác sỹ Pháp cho thấy rằng ăn cá và thịt sống có thể làm tăng tuổi thọ của con người. Tuy nhiên, nghiên cứu này mới được thực hiện trên 200 người Nhật Bản.

9. Hôm qua, Bộ Y tế công bố sẽ cung cấp phiếu khám bệnh chữa bệnh miễn phí cho thiếu nhi dưới 6 tuổi trên toàn quốc. Dự án trợ giúp sức khỏe thiếu nhi sẽ được thí điểm đầu tiên ở Hà nội. Kế tiếp là thành phố Hồ Chí Minh rồi lần lượt sáu mươi bốn tỉnh thành trên cả nước.

10. Cũng liên quan đến sức khỏe trẻ em, Bộ Y tế Việt Nam dự định chi 614 tỷ 500 triệu đồng, tương đương 39 triệu đô la, vào những chương trình chăm sóc sức khỏe cơ bản cho người dân. Mục đích của việc này là nâng chiều cao của thế hệ tương lai lên được 3-4 centimet vào năm 2010.

11. Nhân sâm từ lâu được xem là phương thuốc bồi bổ hữu hiệu. Nhưng kết quả nghiên cứu của các nhà khoa học Đại học Hồng Kông cho thấy rằng việc dùng nhân sâm trong thời kỳ thai nghén có thể gây ra các dị tật cho thai nhi.
12. Hôm 26 tháng 8 vừa qua, cơn bão dữ dội đã đổ bộ vào một số tỉnh ở miền Bắc nước ta. Đây là cơn bão nặng nhất trong vòng 10 năm nay. Bão đã làm tốc mái hàng trăm ngôi nhà và làm sập hàng chục các trường học. Mưa lớn đã gây lỡ đất ở các làng ven sông. Tổng thiệt hại ước tính lên đến hàng trăm triệu đồng.
