Trong thời gian tới, trước những biến động phức tạp, khó lường của tình hình khu vực, thế giới và yêu cầu phát triển của hai nước, chúng ta phải phấn đấu nâng quan hệ hữu nghị, đoàn kết đặc biệt và sự kết hợp toàn diện Viêt – Lào lên tầm cao mới, hiệu quả, bền vững, góp phần giữ vững ổn định chính trị, phát triển kinh tế vững chắc, hội nhập quốc tế sâu rộng, đáp ứng yêu cầu sự nghiệp xây dựng và bảo vệ Tổ quốc ở mỗi nước trong tình hình mới.
