Logo Festival Huế được thiết kế là sự tiếp nối của logo Festival Huế qua các lần tổ chức và đã trở thành một biểu tượng chung duy nhất cho các kỳ Festival Huế sau này.

Mẫu logo gồm 2 phần:

Phần chữ Festival Huế và năm tổ chức là tác phẩm được tuyển chọn của họa sĩ Pháp De L’Estraint vào năm 1999, khi chuẩn bị tổ chức Festival Huế 2000.

Ý tưởng cơ bản của biểu tượng là sử dụng màu cờ nền đỏ sao vàng của quốc kỳ Việt Nam làm nền, đi liền với màu cờ là hình Ngọ Môn ở Ðại Nội Huế được cách điệu và dòng chữ Festival Huế 2000 được bố trí theo cấu trúc ngữ pháp của tiếng Pháp và tiếng Việt.

Dưới nền logo chính của De L’Estraint, ban tổ chức Festival Huế đưa thêm hình ảnh của linh vật Long Mã.

Long Mã - ngựa hóa rồng - là linh vật đặc trưng thường được trang trí trên một số kiến trúc Huế. Biểu tượng Long Mã được cách điệu từ hình tượng Long Mã tại bình phong trường Quốc Học, di tích lưu niệm thời Bác Hồ theo học tại trường Quốc Học Huế.
