Trên thực tế có rất nhiều phương án thoát khí có thể được sử dụng, tùy thuộc vào kết cấu của lòng khuôn, vị trí cổng phun, khả năng gia công, áp xuất phun,...
Một số phương án đang được sử dụng rộng rãi hiện nay gồm:
+ Thoát khí qua rãnh thoát khí trên mặt phân khuôn.
+ Thoát khí qua hệ thống đẩy trên khuôn.
+ Thoát khí qua hệ thống hút chân không.
+ Thoát khí qua hệ thống làm mát, insert, slide,…
