- Trong bối cảnh suy thoái kinh tế diễn ra trên toàn cầu như hiện nay, tình hình kinh tế thế giới được dự báo là vẫn gặp nhiều khó khăn. Việc này dẫn đến những ảnh hưởng nghiêm trọng đối với những doanh nghiệp hoạt động chủ yếu là xuất khẩu, và hệ quả là cũng ảnh hưởng lớn đến hoạt động của ngân hàng.
- Quy trình quản trị của các NHTM chưa phù hợp với các nguyên tắc và chuẩn mực quốc tế, tính minh bạch còn thấp; Việc cải thiện môi trường làm việc và văn hóa kinh doanh chưa được quan tâm đúng mức.
- Khả năng hấp thụ vốn của nên kinh tế Việt Nam nói chung và cùa khu vực ngân hàng nói riêng còn rất thấp. Đây là một thách thức lớn đối với ngân hàng trong việc tận dụng một cách hiệu quả nhất luồng đầu tư nước ngoài vào Việt Nam ngày càng lớn.
