Chính vì vậy họ đóng vai trò rất lớn trong việc tạo ấn tượng ban đầu với khách. Họ có vai trò tham gia vào định hướng tiêu dung và giới thiệu sản phẩm của khách sạn đến với khách hàng, cung cấp thong tin về khách cho các bộ phận khác bên dịch vụ buồng ngủ và các dịch vụ khác cho khách. Lễ tân là trung tâm phối hợp của các hoạt động khác, giúp các bộ phận hoạt động mốt cách nhịp nhàng.
